Foil and Film laminates

To attain a specific solution, paperboard is coated with plastics to combine the mechanical properties of the paperboard with the barrier and sealing properties of plastics or foil and film. Aluminium foil and metallised polyester film are laminated to the paperboard to provide a metallic effect or barrier properties. The choice of material is determined by the demands and use of the product.

Product description

The metallized PET surface has an exceptional surface smoothness with the ability to faithfully reproduce the most sophisticated printing images. Metalprint is ready to print with no primer or pre print treatment required. Both conventional and UV Offset litho, gravure and flexo printing methods can all be used along with inks for non-absorbent materials. 

Invercote G Metalprint also provides very good barrier properties and is offered in combination with several of Holmen Iggesund’s paperboards.

The Surface tension level can be affected after delivery by conditions beyond our control. Regarding Adhesion, the scale is 1–6. (6 = the best possible adhesion on the concerned surface).

For Metalprint the estimated increase in stiffness as a result of the lamination process is, for machine direction 5–12%, for cross direction 14–24%, in relation to the specified baseboard value. The lower the baseboard grammage, the higher the percentage increase.
